Outer space is bigger than big And I am smaller than small Everything I do is natural Time has no beginning or end It goes and it goes and it goes You live until you die that's how it goes I keep searching for deeper meaning But there is no meaning I find The only meaning I find is in my mind All of my dreams have been for naught Did any of it ever really matter if I already forgot?
2.
Outer Space 02:36
In the graveyard when our thoughts turn dark, we'll eat sandwiches and wait for the haunting In the blue pool, spring time cool, we'll find all of our new friends calling Find all of our new friends calling In the basement with specific intent we'll collect all the moisture in the air In the Midwest doing our best, we'll find out what it means to prepare Find out what it means to prepare It's coming up the hill In the recent past, moments that last, we'll work until we get to the places In the segue way too true to obey we'll recall all the smirks off of their faces Recall all the smirks off of their faces It's coming up the hill Outer space

Driving down a Pocono mountain. In the car my ears are popping So I swallow 'til I feel better I do it again a little later on My problems are gone The universe keeps getting bigger So do my bills, but I'm not bitter As long as I've got good food for dinner And someplace warm during the winter, I'm fine Nothing's wrong I cried so many buckets full of tears Over so many confused years It's funny now just looking back I have to laugh Religions come and then they go When they leave I am thankful Families of Holy Ghosts Are dancing on their tippy toes in time I'm waving goodbye There's so much I cannot know And that fact is always so I don't mind my limitations So you can take my frustrations away So long see ya alright goodbye I cried so many buckets full of tears Over so many confused years It's funny now just looking back I have to laugh
4.
Tippa tippa tap tap on my roof Here's the truth about Paul Pierce He played for the Celtics for almost his whole career He won a championship one year When Kevin Garnett (KG) and Ray Allen joined him there The rain is tap tap tap tapping on my roof Here's the proof We don't need no proof About the truth The mysterious truth It's a bunny in a bush You can point and say "Look! Look!" But you never can sink a hook Into the truth The jaw-drop truth And one time after a game he played against Paul Pierce's Boston Celtics, Shaquille O'Neal (aka Shaq, Shaq Daddy, Shaq Diesel, The Big Aristotle) of the Miami Heat said "I have something I want to say. Paul Pierce is The Truth" and Paul Pierce's nickname became The Truth.
5.
Dry Bones 01:39
Dry bones dry bones Floating up there in the sky Dry bones dry bones We all one day must die Broken rib broken legs broken neck broken face Dry bones keep crumbling all around me I can feel my bones they're drying out I can feel my bones they're drying out Let me tell you what the future is all about The same as the past it's drying drying out Dry bones dry bones Floating up there in the sky Dry bones dry bones I don't know how or why Those bones are bleaching in the sun Those bones are bleaching which side are you on? Will you miss me when I'm gone? When I die let my dry bones bleach in the sun

Radical leftist politics never sold that many cars Radical leftist politics isn't gonna make TV stars Come to your show for the interview On the nightly news. Sorry dude. Radical leftist politics isn't gonna change that much no-no Radical leftist politics maybe it's just a crutch For those of us who are down and out and searching for some kind of hope We've got nothing to look forward to Except a bright new future With radical leftist politics Radical leftist politics I don't know if they've done me any good Radical leftist politics but it's not like I'm taking to the streets So who knows maybe we should try implementing some of these ideas Maybe we should try to take over the government And I"m not talking about violence I'm talking about through the polls Using laws and existing systems to improve our world With things like universal health care, guaranteed income No more global military aggression or economic domination Could our collective existence get better if we used government for that purpose? Is it possible? Sometimes I have my doubts And my friends they have their doubts But we're figuring it out Radical leftist politics what have you done for me? Agitation and class resentment. I'm always worried About those corporate oppressors, business types Always pushing people like us around They treat us like commodities They treat us like we're worthless They treat us like we're not even Humans with a purpose to our lives Beyond our labor for their dollars an hour Well I'm worth more than that! Tell that fat cat, whoever that is I mean, what's wrong with a fat old cat? You've gotta love em, you gotta hug em Maybe put them on a diet, though No one should eat that much all the time No one should eat that much all the time Radical leftist politics what have you done for me? Radical leftist politics what have I done for you?

I don't gotta make no sense That's just the way it is I don't gotta make no sense That's just the way it is It could be what I'm eating for breakfast A real good burrito with avocado It could be what I'm eating for dinner I'll tell you what I had when I get there I don't gotta make no sense That's just the way it is I don't gotta make no sense That's just the way it is It could be the Ramshackle Glory record on my attic bedroom floor It could be the Kyle Hall record leaned against the door I don't gotta make no sense That's just the way it is, fellows (breakdown) It could be the Hank Williams song stuck inside It could the way I wake up in my bed Every morning at 8 AM ready for my coffee Whatever else I do, that's between infinity and me I don't gotta make no sense, dawgs

We met in the springtime when blossoms unfurled I was her Minneapolis boy, she was my thrift shop girl Our love was in flower to Hank Williams songs We'd do it by the hour, then sing it all night long Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave I guess that I just was made for this world We filled our cups with dew drops and guzzled it down Got rowdy every night and scandalized the town Our friends were getting worried about how different we'd become But we heard those vibrations deep inside of our ear drums Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave I guess that I just wasn't made for these times Everything is beautiful when things are working out Everything is beautiful when you're not living hand to mouth Everything is beautiful when you wanna see it through Everything is beautiful when you love what it is you do We started losing faith when the debt collectors came She got a new identity and I chose a new name Our connection was getting shakier and shakier each day We only stayed together until we lost the strength to say Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave Either you're gonna change or I'm gonna leave I guess that I just wasn't made at all Everything is beautiful when things are working out Everything is beautiful when you're not living hand to mouth Everything is beautiful when you wanna see it through Everything is beautiful when you love what it is you do

Anything 02:25
Anything Anything that doesn't sting or bring me down when I need to sing Anything at all Anything Anything that initiates positive change and establishes constructive patterns in my brain Hey, here's a proposition I'll go serve a Mormon mission If upon it's completion I am granted X-ray vision I'm not talking about seeing bones Or looking through people's clothes I wanna see through every lie in the world That's ever been or is being told Anything Anything Anything that doesn't leave me hurting I'm so tired of almost crying over anything at all Anything Anything that can shield my feelings So I'm not so transparent when I'm thinking Anything at all Cuz I never wanted to be an open book Hey everybody look! No not at me! Over there! Now I'm running away totally scared Oh, well Oh, well Lolol Zekibird heard the words and laughed Man I must be daft Feels like I have nothing left But I can tell I have so much left So much left to express Anything Dammit it can be anything I don't mind if you go but I hope you stay Even when I don't have anything left to say
11.
Sundance Kids greatest truth-telling hits Sometimes I still reminisce About that show in Minneapolis When I saw the Sundance Kids I kept thinking it was about time to wrap it up But it kept going, going, going And it got better as it went on I was wrong, I liked each and every song
12.
There's nothing going on in this town I think I'm gonna lose my mind, dawgs
13.
It's been so long since I felt whole There's an emptiness I feel in my soul I look back at the life I've led I'm haunted by the thoughts in my head I'm wearing out I don't trust the ground on which I'm standing From one fall or another I'm always landing I look for hope but it can't be found Standing on this uneven ground I'm wearing out I view the world from behind this mask There's no answer to any question I'm asked I look for truth but it can't be seen I'm always stuck in the in between I'm wearing out
14.
Wiggledy whack clickity clack Clack clack clack Let's move on to the bivouac I don't know what that is I've seen the word so many times In newspapers and in books and I've never taken a look into a dictionary to see What it means I imagine it's some sort of fortification I picture that "v" jutting out in defense But I don't know what it means in reality What's a bivouac? Maybe someday I'll look it up And then I won't be able to say I don't know what it means But I kinda prefer not knowing this one Every once in awhile it's good to enjoy a little mystery I'm so sick of always looking where I wish I hadn't Oh, my word! I'm so tired! I'm always trying to figure it out It's so stressful tuning in to this channel But I know other people have it worse, though So much worse than me I'm a first world artist, a person of privilege Whatever exactly that it is I believe it's true There are options I have that others don't And some of those options come from places they shouldn't

Honey Don't 01:49
I was running from the places that I never could get to I was running down the wall that stands between me and you Honey don't no no no Honey don't go leaving now Life had me so afraid that I panicked and I ran Life had me so afraid that i ave up before I began Honey don't no no no Honey don't go leaving now It's a mystery to me to be so infinitely small It's a mystery to me that we exist at all Honey don't no no no Honey don't go leaving now

Quit your job we're living on a ball that's floating around in outter space And if anyone out there thinks it's unusual to quit that job, well, listen to my case What's the point in wasting your life engaged in meaningless toil? Wouldn't you be so much happier with your head in the sunshine and your feet on the soil? Quit your job, we're living on a ball that's floating spinning around in outter space I mean if you wanna have a job that's totally cool, I'm not gonna give you a federal case But personally I'd be much happier actually enjoying my life on this planet, dammit And personally I'd be much happier if each moment of my life was one I felt like I was living for my own personal interests while behaving responsibly towards other beings Quit your job, we're living on a ball that's floating around somewhere in the vast reaches of space Humanity will exist for this extended moment, then snuff out with barely a trace Sometimes I worry how these words might come across to people I haven't met yet But I gotta get it out before I hit my death bed so I won't feel any regret Quit your job, we're living on a ball that's just orbiting around somewhere in outer space And, you know what, that's okay with me and my friends, we're not going to give you a taste Of our bad medicine and terrible advice disguised as tough love I'll tell you who I'm thinking of: all of the above who don't belong there. But they don't care because they want the power. Well, you know what? Quit your job, we're living on a ball that's out there floating around, yes, in the vast reaches of space And what it means is a complete mystery, seems kinda like it might not mean a thing In that case it's pretty weird at all that we exist, it doesn't make a lick of sense what any of this is What the hell's a building, a road, a car, a tree, a TV screen, a nuclear submarine, a socio-economic system, a reason to live? What's anything? Quit your job

I was eating barbed wire it was scraping up my teeth When I heard that honky holler and a hoot owl screech The dirt road it was dusty it was getting up my nose The dust was messing up my brand new cowboy clothes I poured some beer down my boots from a 10 gallon hat That's how we do it in the country so don't stare at me like that See I'm a big time cowboy, I was born in a barn Milking cows all my life on the good old family farm I sing a sad, sad song when the sun goes down And when it comes back up I ride my horse into town It ain't that I"m making fun, I'm just being who I am An outlaw country rebel living life on the lam Well I held up a few banks with my friend Billy the Kid Now the deputy sheriff wants to put us down for what we did So we're hiding out on the range with our pal Jesse James Pretending to be prospectors just mining our claims You might think that I'm crazy or a goll derned fool But I'm just a country boy who likes to kick it old school I put a shoe on my horse just because I could But he wouldn't let me near his one bad foot There were cows in the pasture they were eating lots of hay A little in the distance, deer and antelope play Tonight my outlaw posse has plans to rob a train That's how we do it in the country, we ain't got time to explain We're cowboys Big time cowboy outlaw hustlers Bandanas on our faces cowboys Train robbers and cattle rustlers Cowboys Big time cowboys

I was feeling sweet and a little sentimental and I improvised this. Thanks for listening to my songs and my album. Love, Eric

Except King Kong Kitchee Kitchee KItchee owes a very strong debt to Chubby Parker's version of "Froggie Went A-Courting" so I guess that one is sort of by a lot of people, including me but also seriously listen to the Chubby Parker song on the Anthology of American Folk Music because it's way better than mine.
