The dirt road it was dusty it was getting up my nose
The dust was messing up my brand new cowboy clothes
I poured some beer down my boots from a 10 gallon hat
That's how we do it in the country so don't stare at me like that

See I'm a big time cowboy, I was born in a barn
Milking cows all my life on the good old family farm
I sing a sad, sad song when the sun goes down
And when it comes back up I ride my horse into town
It ain't that I"m making fun, I'm just being who I am
An outlaw country rebel living life on the lam

Well I held up a few banks with my friend Billy the Kid
Now the deputy sheriff wants to put us down for what we did
So we're hiding out on the range with our pal Jesse James
Pretending to be prospectors just mining our claims
You might think that I'm crazy or a goll derned fool
But I'm just a country boy who likes to kick it old school

I put a shoe on my horse just because I could
But he wouldn't let me near his one bad foot
There were cows in the pasture they were eating lots of hay
A little in the distance, deer and antelope play
Tonight my outlaw posse has plans to rob a train
